Department of Microbiology

About The Department

The department was established in the year 2010. The department runs First Year, Second Year, Third Year Microbiology with six units. Program provides basic knowledge of the Microbiology world, microbial diversity, their evolution, cell biology, genetics, immunology, medical microbiology, microbial biochemistry, bioprocess technology and applied microbiology.

Aims & Objectives

To provide a comprehensive introduction to microbiology, including fundamental aspects of microbial diversity and physiology, and with a focus on selected themes that are essential features of microbiology.
To promote deep understanding of concept and skill those are deemed to be of lasting importance only in the classroom and laboratory but also beyond those.
To promote acquisition of knowledge and theoretical understanding of methods and techniques required for research in microbiology and Immunology.

Action Plan

Strengthen the teaching learning modalities at the department
Expand departmental research by conducting basic and applied research in microbiology
Develop/expand physical infrastructure of the department by Purchasing instruments to equip laboratories and maintain the existing equipments of the department.
Organize faculty and staff development activities
Improve collaboration with other universities/ institutes/Govt. Agencies and industries.
