The department was established in 2010. The department runs First Year, Second Year, Third Year Botany with six units. Program provides basic knowledge of the living world, plant diversity and evolutionary trends of flowering and non-flowering plants, cell biology, genetics, plant physiology, and plant ecology during the three years. This department is actively imparting the knowledge of subject to the needy students and awareness among them about environment related issues. There are three teaching faculties. The faculty members of department actively participate in workshop & seminars regularly held by different colleges of Mumbai University. Department has well equipped instrument, computer and internet facility for conducting practicals in Biostatistics and Bioinformatics.
